Stromatolites are examples of how planet earth became oxygenated billions of years ago. These life forms raised the oxygen level of the atmosphere to 20% which allowed life on land to begin. Such simple creatures, all they ask for is extra saline waters that are still and shallow. It takes a whole year to grow a whopping .5 mm. That is incredibly slow!
