Cape Le Grand National Park

Just 45 minutes southeast of Esperance, W.A. Is a nice national park with what is surely the worlds best beaches. You know those calendars you can buy every year that have these amazing turquoise blue water on white sand beaches... The ones people from the pacific northwest give away as a Christmas present to some poor person who probably hasn't been on a decent (tropical) holiday... well, ever. You know those ones? Well I never in my life thought that the blue was real. I seriously though the blue was an enhancement to someones trick photography. I am no expert photographer... and though I wish I had the talent of Elisa Hanna (Turbeville) to make everything I snap look amazing... I don't. I simply point and shoot and even I can't make these photos look bad... (Matt may have taken this one... I was too excited to remember to take photos!)

See. Ah.Maze.Ing. This is how we rewarded ourselves today after a little hike up Frenchmans Peak. This little granite boulder is something like 1.2 Billion years old and has withstood millenniums under water. You should consider climbing such a geologists dream with a geologist in tow. You learn a lot about dyke's and quartz and veins and rock formations. No. Seriously. Climb a rock with a rock nerd. It is super fun!! :)

Kristy-Bo Van Ness (Laing) asked yesterday if we made any sand castles. I am afraid we didn't do any such thing yesterday... but today I built this little Sand-Man in honour of all those back home who were only recently dealing with the snow version of these!

Hi Kristy! You should come to Esperance for a visit while in Australia. It's divine~

My next post will be of photos leading up to today (we found the camera cable! Hurray!). Enjoy! We sure have!!
